My design practice explores the application of strategic design and visual communication to advance social justice and environmental sustainability. My work has addressed issues in the areas of human rights, food security, disaster resilience, energy, social isolation, housing, public infrastructure, community-led change and environmental protection. This work has contributed to significant change— it’s informed government policy, influenced funding, grown public awareness and shaped educational programs.

  • Artists Behind the Action Exhibition

    Artists Behind the Action Exhibition

    Artists Behind the Action acknowledged the significant contribution of artists in protecting Tasmania’s forests and natural environments over decades of activism. The exhibition also raised the most funds ever from a single source for the Huon Valley Environment Council, who works ongoingly to defend the forests of Southern Tasmania includung the Tarkine.

    A World of Water Exhibition

    A World of Water: A brief history of Brisbane’s Public Swimming Pools exhibition marked the 50th anniversary of Musgrave Park Swimming Pool and explored the role of pools as public built infrastructure, underwater galleries and places embedded with rich history often overlooked by architecture documentation. Photographic ‘Water lens sketches’ by Dr Charles Zuber play with Adam Lester’s underwater murals rather than simply document them, exhibited alongside historian Steve Capelin’s findings.

    Multiplay: A New Media Exhibition featured multimedia artworks by three artists, Melanie Maher, Emma Babcock and Melissa Falvey. My work, ‘Intergenerational Remote Tyranny’, was a 3-channel video projection, which surrounded audiences on all sides, trapping them into a space in which they were forced to consider the writings of Tony Fry, William McDonough and Jason Grant.
